Several days with maximum temperatures of -4ºC makes everybody angry at exception of Dutch people. These last two weeks has been like a collective madness in the small and flat country because all the canals, ponds, lakes and any other water surface has been transformed in skating surfaces. Ice skating is the national sport in the Netherlands, but it has not been possible to do outdoor ice skating for around 10 years.
So during these weeks people was finishing early in the offices to profit of it and the whole weekend all big and small water surfaces where covered for families enjoying sunny and cold days. It has been amazing, Netherlands in his best form, everybody was irradiating happiness.
I let you with a big pile of pictures. First Rotterdam on Wednesday afternoon, Friday night at Leiden, more Rotterdam on Saturday morning and Delft on Saturday afternoon. But everywhere the same image.
